Bio
Benjamin (“Ben”) Claxton, Sr., joined Jones Cork, LLP in June of 2021 after practicing for six years in Jackson, Mississippi with Butler Snow, LLP. Mr. Claxton focuses his practice on general civil litigation, and has experience representing individuals, insurance companies, and businesses in a wide range of disputes. Mr. Claxton has experience representing clients at the trial level through the appellate court system.
Mr. Claxton graduated with a degree in History from the University of Mississippi in 2002. While at the University of Mississippi, Mr. Claxton was a Captain of the Varsity Football Team. After graduation Mr. Claxton played in the National Football League from 2003-2011. Upon completion of his professional football career, Mr. Claxton received his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2015, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, Mr. Claxton was a member of the Mississippi College Law Review and served as the Executive Editor. Mr. Claxton was also a member of the American Inns of Court, Charles Clark Chapter.
Mr. Claxton enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children.
